DSCSA Compliance: EPCIS File Transmission Setup

🔗 For L4 Providers & DSCSA Service Providers

If you're an L4 provider or third-party service helping a wholesaler with DSCSA compliance, this page contains all the information you need to set up EPCIS file transmission to EzriRx. You can complete the setup process on behalf of your client.

⚠️ Federal Compliance Requirement

The Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA) is a federal law that requires wholesalers to provide track and trace documentation (EPCIS files) for every prescription drug transaction by November 27, 2025.

Non-compliance can result in significant penalties, regulatory action, and disruption to your pharmacy customers' operations.

EzriRx is here to help make your compliance seamless. We've built infrastructure to simplify EPCIS file distribution for all orders placed through our platform.

Your Compliance Path Forward

To maintain compliance with federal law and continue serving pharmacies on EzriRx, you must provide EPCIS files for all prescription drug orders. We strongly recommend sending these files through EzriRx's centralized system. Here's why:

✅ Meet Your Legal Obligation with Less Work

Federal law requires you to provide EPCIS files to every pharmacy customer. Instead of setting up and managing connections with hundreds of individual pharmacies and their various Track & Trace services, send all files to one destination - EzriRx. We'll handle the distribution complexity.

✅ Faster Compliance Setup

One AS2 connection to EzriRx means you're immediately compliant for all pharmacy customers on our platform - no need to coordinate with each pharmacy individually.

✅ Reduce Risk & Errors

Let us manage the pharmacy-side integrations and routing. Fewer connections means fewer points of failure, and we provide immediate visibility when issues arise.

✅ Dedicated Compliance Support

Our team is here to help troubleshoot any EPCIS transmission issues. When pharmacies have questions, we can resolve them quickly since we're managing the entire flow.

Bottom line: Centralizing your EPCIS file transmission through EzriRx reduces your compliance burden while ensuring all your pharmacy customers receive the documentation they need to meet the federal requirements.

Step 5: Obtain Pharmacy Customer Master Data & Start Sending

To configure your system with pharmacy master data (GLN numbers, addresses, etc.), you'll need the customer list from the wholesaler:

  • If you're the wholesaler: Log in to your EzriRx account, go to the Customers section, and click "Export Customer Master Data"
  • If you're an L4 provider: Ask the wholesaler to log in to their EzriRx account and export the customer master data for you, or request they grant you access to their account

Use this data to configure your EPCIS generation system.

Once configured, begin sending EPCIS files for all EzriRx orders. Files must be sent within 24 hours of order shipment to maintain compliance.
